Individual Counselling Support

In today’s fast-paced world, we are facing unprecedented levels of stress, burnout, and emotional exhaustion.

While many factors contribute to this crisis, the mental health challenges individuals experience—along with the ripple effects on their families, friends, and colleagues—can be overwhelming.

I have always had a keen interest in the psychology surrounding self-development, however chose a career in business. After 30 years in corporate Finance and HR roles, my decision to move towards my passion and study counselling was actually deeply rooted in my experiences working in HR Case Management. I witnessed firsthand how reduced mental resilience impacts both personal and professional lives.

Many individuals could benefit from talk therapy—a safe, non-judgmental space where they can explore their challenges with an independent professional who will listen, support, and collaborate with them. Waiting until your mental health has deteriorated significantly is not helpful to yourself or those who care about you.

Life changes, whether planned or unplanned, positive or challenging, can significantly impact our mental health and wellbeing..

Common triggers include:

  • Relocating away from family and friends
  • Starting a new job or transitioning roles
  • Workplace relationship challenges
  • Workload and performance pressures
  • Loss of confidence or feeling unsupported
  • Redefining identity after an extended leave from the workforce
  • Adjusting to new family dynamics (moving in with a partner, starting a family, separation)
  • Navigating life changes related to midlife
  • A loved one becomes unwell, elderly parents requiring support, death of someone close

The list is long and extensive but each challenge we face is important to us as individuals in how we grow and develop. To be able to live our best lives as we continue to move through our life's journey with self-compassion and compassion for others is so important.

Approach to Counselling

My approach is person-centred and strengths-based—a positive therapeutic model that provides individuals with a safe, supportive space. It fosters unconditional positive regard and non-judgment, focusing on internal strengths and resourcefulness rather than weaknesses or problems.

This approach encourages individuals to:

  • Recognise and build upon their best qualities
  • Strengthen resilience and coping mechanisms
  • Develop a more positive worldview

While Psychologists and Psychiatrists play a crucial role in medical treatment for diagnosed mental health conditions, working with a Counsellor during the early stages of significant life changes can provide the necessary support to navigate transitions before reaching a crisis point.

Empowering Growth & Change

I believe that every individual has the ability and drive to grow toward their fullest potential.

My role is not to give advice or solutions, but rather to support and collaborate with you as you deepen your self-awareness, uncover your inner strengths, and trust your own instincts.

By fostering personal insight and resilience, I hope to empower you to create meaningful and positive change, leading to a more fulfilling and purposeful life.
